Amana Washing Machine
If you are having problems with your Amana washing machine - sometimes running the self test mode can act like a factory reset and clear the errors from your machine.
Self Test Mode
- Make sure the washing machine is plugged into the mains (all of the lights on the machine should be off).
- If any of the lights are turned on, spin the dial 360degrees counter clockwise and set the dial to face the Regular/Normal Mode at the top of the dial.
- Then turn the dial counterclockwise one click, then clockwise three clicks, counterclockwise one click, then clockwise one click.
- The cycle status lights should light up - you are now in diagnostic / troubleshooting mode.
- Go clockwise two clicks - the final spin light should now be lit.
- Press the start button and now the machine will run it's self test mode.
Diagnostic Mode
- Make sure the washing machine is plugged into the mains (all of the lights on the machine should be off).
- If any of the lights are turned on, spin the dial 360degrees counter clockwise and set the dial to face the Regular/Normal Mode at the top of the dial.
- Then turn the dial counterclockwise one click, then clockwise three clicks, counterclockwise one click, then clockwise one click.
- The cycle status lights should light up - you are now in diagnostic / troubleshooting mode.
- Go clockwise one clicks - the cycle complete light should now be lit.
- Press the start button and now the machine is now in diagnostic mode.
- Turn the dial clockwise one click, and the machine will now give you a readout of it's diagnostic code.
