Checking a Broken Remote
You can test the remote to see if it is outputting, by pointing it at a digital camera or camera phone, whilst watching the IR emitter on the remote. Through the digital/camera phones viewfinder when pressing buttons on the remote you should see a bright white light if the remote is working.
If you see the infrared light even when you don't press a button, one of the buttons on the remote may be stuck and other buttons may no longer work. If this is the case:
- Remove the batteries.
- Press and release each button a couple of times to see if you can free the stuck button.
- Reinsert the batteries and test the remote again.
