TV Model Number

Sometimes in order to be able to provide you with tech support people will ask you for the model number of your TV. With TVs now being mounted on the wall, and model numbers being printed on the back of the sets it's not immediately obvious how you would check the model number of your set.

One of the typical questions that we get asked is: "How do I get my TVs model number without taking it off the wall?".

Thankfully most major manufacturers now list the model number of the set somewhere in the menu, below we list some common manufacturers and the typical place within the menus that the model number is displayed.

LG LCD Model Number

1. Press the Settings button on your LG Remote. This button looks like a little gear and has “Q. Menu” text below it (the button below the “RECENT” button)
2. Scroll down and select All Settings.
3. Scroll down to General and navigate right.
4. Scroll down and select About This TV.

Samsung LCD Model Number

1. On the remote that was supplied with the tv, press the Menu button.
2. Navigate to the support sub-menu.
3. Navigate to the "Contact Samsung" option.

Philips LCD Model Number

1. While watching a TV channel, press ‘1 2 3 6 5 4’ in quick succession on your TV remote.
2. A menu will appear showing the model number on the first line.
3. Exit the menu with the “Home” button.

Sony LCD Model Number

2014 Sets

1. On the TV remote, press the HOME button.
2. Select Help(?).
3. Select Customer Support.
4. Select System Information.

2015 Onwards

1. On the LCD remote, press the HOME button.
2. Select Settings.
3. Select System Settings or Product Support.
4. Select Customer Support or System Information.
5. Select Product Information.

TCL Model Number

1. Press on your remote to go to the Home screen.
2. Scroll up or down and select Settings.
3. Press the right arrow button and select System.
4. Press the right arrow button and select About.
5. This will bring you to the System Info page.

Vizio LCD Model Number

Through The LCD Menu

1. Press the Menu button on your VIZIO Remote.
2. Highlight and Select Help or System.
3. Select System Information.

Through The Smartcast App

1. Open the SmartCast App on your phone/tablet.
2. Select the name of the Display or TV from the device drop down.
3. Tap on the Settings Gear icon
4. Tap on System and then on System Information.
